Seventeen years ago I woke up on Earth Day.
Not metaphorically. Literally. I opened my eyes after my first brain surgery on April 22nd, 2009 and the world looked completely different. Sharper. More precious. Like I was seeing it for the first time.
I've never been able to separate Earth Day from that moment. The planet and I, we share a little anniversary.
What came after that day eventually became this brand, this community, and this deep belief that nature provides if we let it. That lesson has never left me, and after everything these past two years, it feels more true than ever.
So today, I just want to say thank you. For being part of something rooted in that belief with me.
Every season has something to teach us, if we slow down enough to listen.
And if you want to mark the day in a small, meaningful way, here are a few things I love:
-
Get your hands in the dirt. Plant something, even if it's just an herb on a windowsill. There is nothing more grounding.
-
Take a walk without your phone. Just notice what's out there.
-
Swap one thing. A cleaner product, a reusable bag, and a farmers market instead of the grocery store. One small edit adds up.
Write it down. What do you want to tend to this season? Your health, your relationships, your home. Earth Day is a beautiful reset.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
